Internal Memory

There are two different ways of storing your photos on your digital camera, you can use an external memory source such as a memory card or memory stick or you can use the digital camera's internal memory but be aware that not all digital cameras have internal memory.

Internal memory is useful as it allows you to take digital photos when you do not have a memory card available, you will always have the internal memory as it is never removed from the digital camera. The internal memory is nearly always measured in megabytes (MB) and the more megabytes of internal memory a digital camera has the more photos it will be able to store, the number of photos that can be stored on the internal memory depends on the quality setting of the photos as the more megapixels they have the more space they will need.

The internal memory included with most digital cameras is not that large so it is always a good idea to have a large memory card as high quality photos and video takes up allot of space in the memory. Memory cards are quite cheap these days so it does not cost too much to buy a large memory card so when your internal memory does become full you can still easily use your memory card.
