Red-Eye Reduction
You may have noticed that when taking digital photos of people in dark conditions using the flash that sometimes the subject will have an evil looking red tint to their eyes, this is caused by the flash of the digital camera as the light reflects from the retina in the subjects eyes.
There are however some digital cameras that have built in red-eye reduction so that red-eye will no longer be a problem when taking photos of people with the flash, this is usually a mode or option that has to be turned on as it is only need in these exact circumstances. The red-eye reduction works by firing a light or series of lights before the photo is taken, this makes the retina react in a different way and usually eliminates the red-eye problem.
There are problems with the red-eye reduction feature though, as it has to produce initial flash before the actual photo is taken it takes longer to take a photo so is not ideal if timing is an issue. If you need to take a quick photo then it may be better to remove the red-eye in another way, the most popular is to use graphics software such as Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro which can both remove red-eye from photos.
If you would like to buy a digital camera with built in red-eye reduction then we have a selection listed below and have also listed them with the cheapest first so buying a cheap digital camera with red-eye reduction is easy.
